The smaller a box you use will, as a general rule of thumb, reduce your shipping costs. Our software is set to default to 1 cubic foot for Packages when no dimensions are entered. If you know your box is less than 1 cubic foot, select Packages. You don’t have to do anything different when shipping.

Can I use my own box for USPS Flat Rate?

Yes! An added bonus of USPS Flat Rate and Regional Rate boxes is that USPS offers free packaging for these services. For Priority Mail Package and Thick Envelope, you usually have to provide your own packaging. Keep in mind, though, that you can only use this packaging for their associated service.
